He wants booze in his brain, a soggy patron saint
Wandering around keeping his gutters clean.
Adorned a suit ripped to shreds
When most are bundled up in bed
He’s out battling his demons
Erratically waving his hands, an irrational defense
Against the invisible man trying to steal his hard-earned car of cans

Well he spent all his university years
In one very disruptive and lonely semester of tears
And then he left for good
Police come to hassle him over a joint
Patience is now wearing thin
Teenagers rip all the things from his arms
Sad as they laugh no good Samaritan
Balancing arguments deep in his head
No one could have guessed what he said
He said "you don't know me but I once was you"

He screams at the pavement, responding that he hates it
Stone must carry solid argument
A sort of jester if you meet him
Claims Hollywood'll be calling
Its all a bed he made himself amidst his daydreaming
An ironic musing
But not so much amusing as a story that’s not so funny in the end
