lyrics

I play my trumpet loudly,
even louder than I shout
And if you challenge me,
I’ll blow your fucking eardrums out
But there’s one almighty horn to which I won’t stand up and fight
It’s shinin’ like a diamond and it wakes me in the night with its
Shrill, shrill whistle piercing through my bones
And the ground starts rumblin’ as it takes control
The headlight blinds my eyes, the vortex makes me fall
Yeah my trumpet’s pretty loud, but the train trumps all

Well, startin’ late from two flat tires,
our trouble ran in spades
We stopped short at the crossroads with a twenty-minute wait from the

Shrill, shrill whistle piercing through our bones
And the ground starts rumblin’ as it takes control
The headlight blinds our eyes, the vortex makes us fall
Well we pedal to the metal, but the train trumps all

Paul thought he was such an ace, he tried to jack my queen
I said “hey Paul, hands off my girl,” and he looked mighty mean
“I’ll kick yer ass and win her heart, now whatcha think ‘bout that?”
So we got our knives around midnight and
sparred on th’ ol’ train tracks where the
Shrill, shrill whistle pierces through my bones
And the ground starts rumblin’ when it takes control, I should have folded this hand,
why’d I have to call??
We better end this soon cuz the train trumps all

Right on the flop Paul’s aim was straight and his blade was flush and true
I got a pair of jabs in but he beat me black and blue
He turned me down in a river of blood and said “Son, you’re outta luck”
He drew a club and bashed my skull and then his foot got stuck just as the
Shrill, shrill whistle pierced right through our bones
And the ground started rumblin’ as I did a barrel roll
Those wheels of death ground him up while I inched and crawled
Yeah, Paul won the fight but the train trumped Paul
